Protect your Business - Data Security Ed Session
Join us for educational
webinars on July 13, 15 or 16 when we'll go over the many situations
that threaten your business data and the steps you can and should take
to protect yourself.
A security breach in your organization could have devastating effects
on the health of your business. Certainly your reputation with your
clients and business partners would be tarnished, should their financial
data find its way to unscrupulous operators. More importantly, by
failing to 'close down the hatches' so to speak, you risk receiving a
large bill from the FCC as the government is coming down hard on
organizations that fail to meet their security requirements.

Report from the American Small Manufacturers Coalition
This association has
published its findings from their 2009 survey of the 'Next Generation
Manufacturing' study.
We highly recommend perusing this study as it highlights
opportunities for manufacturers to go on the offensive to grow their
business. It recognizes and gives credit to manufacturing executives for
having prioritized process improvement, customer-focused innovation and
supplier management in order to take their businesses to the next level.
But it also points to areas of what it terms "key structural
barriers" that need attention: global engagement and sustainable
products and processes. Global markets are growing faster than the
domestic market, large buyers are aggressively driving green metrics
throughout their supply chains, and foreign and domestic governments are
putting regulatory restrictions in place that demand green compliance.

Matching Inventory to Demand Patterns
If ever there was a time
where simply rolling forward demand forecasts from previous periods
won’t work, this is it.
Analysis has a greater role to play in your demand forecast than
ever, but what has changed is the type of analysis that needs to be
done. The key is to uncover demand patterns at a detailed level,
product by product, and to include other dimensions such as demand
frequency, order size and forecast error.
Next, you'll want to recalculate your safety stocks and inventory
targets, because if you find a mismatch between your new demand patterns
and your old inventory targets, you won't be able to adapt quickly
enough to changing business conditions. A good approach is mix
optimization, so that you reduce the items that contribute the least to
incremental profitability.
It may be time for your organization to conduct a thorough review of
your analysis methods. This is where we can help. Contact

efforts.
